O Arroz da Machamba: 100% Mozambican rice, grown in the Chalaua valley, Moma, and processed by AGRO TRADES.
Arroz Amakua comes from the AGRO TRADES Zero Hunger project, aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2. We grow, harvest and process rice in the Chalaua valley, Moma District, Nampula Province, to reduce dependence on imported rice and bring Mozambican families a quality national product.

We prepare the land and sow with modern machinery, harvest with tracked combines suited to the valley's flooded land, and process the rice in our own mill: hulling, polishing and optical colour sorting.
In the pilot phase we grew and harvested 20 hectares in Chalaua. The first batch was presented at the Nampula Provincial Economic Fair (FENA) and sold out.
The target is 100 fully mechanised hectares, with a processing capacity of 10 to 15 tonnes per day.

The project creates value for people who live and work on the land in Moma.
